Below are some frequently asked questions about our services
1. Is this part of the NHS?
No. This is a private clinic delivered independently of the NHS. It is not part of your regular GP practice or general medical services.
2. Who runs the clinic?
The clinic is delivered by qualified GPs from across the Mid Ulster area. However, you will **never be seen by your own NHS GP**. All care is provided outside of NHS working hours, by doctors working in a private capacity.
3. Why is the clinic based in my GP practice?
For your comfort and convenience, the clinic may operate from the same premises as your GP practice. However, the clinic is entirely separate from NHS services and is run privately by GPs who are not involved in your routine NHS care.
4. Will my NHS GP know I’ve attended this clinic?
Your private clinic records are confidential and not automatically shared with your NHS GP. However, with your consent, we can share relevant details to support continuity of care if needed.
5. Can I use this clinic instead of seeing my NHS GP?
No. This clinic does not replace your NHS GP care. It provides additional support for weight management through private services, which you may choose to access alongside your NHS care.
6. How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked on the New Patient Appointment page on this website. Please complete a form on our new patient appointment page, and a Doctor will be in contact to arrange your appointment.
7. Do I have to pay for this service?
Yes. This is a private medical service and is not funded by the NHS. A fixed monthly fee includes your consultations and prescribed treatment where appropriate. Pricing will be discussed with you before you agree to any care.
8. What does the treatment involve?
The clinic offers support and medical treatment options, including GLP-1 weight loss injections where clinically appropriate. You will have a consultation with a GP to assess suitability, and ongoing monitoring is provided.
9. Can I attend the clinic at another practice if I prefer?
For safety and governance reasons, you will only be eligible to attend the clinic at your local participating practice — and you will still not be seen by your own GP.
10. Is this clinic endorsed by my practice?
Your practice may provide use of its premises to help deliver the service locally, but the clinic is a separate, private service. It is not operated as part of the NHS or general practice contract.
11. I am not from Mid Ulster or I am not registered with one of your nine practices, can I still use your service?
Yes you can. We can see patients from outside of Mid Ulster or who are registered at a GP surgery elsewhere. There is a specific link on the New Patient Appointment page on this website. Please click it and complete a form. One of our GPs will then be in touch as soon as possible to arrange assessment.
